Finding Inspiration in Everyday Moments

I paint moments that catch my attention and stay with me — scenes of generosity, resilience, and connection across generations. These works, whether drawn from photographs or lived experience, continue that focus: ordinary gestures that reveal how people endure and relate in everyday life. Together they invite a second, closer look, making the familiar feel charged with meaning. For inquiries about available works, please contact me here.

The Bookseller

I  spent many hours in small, dusty book shops, quietly snooping in every  corner without anyone ever bugging me to "help". Unfortunately, with the  advent of online megastores, these delightful little spaces are  disappearing. This painting is my affectionate look at the passionate,  learned people who still maintain them.

The work celebrates everyday mentorship and the quiet strength found in nurturing another’s creativity.

Winter, Bearer of Life

Winter is usually portrayed as an old man. To emphasize the fact that there is life percolating under the cold and snow, I painted the season as a pregnant young woman.

Watercolour painting of a woman looking out an arched window at an island, with moonlight shining on the water.
